Cyclone Gabrielle Loss Estimates Updated

Cyclone Gabrielle brought heavy winds and rain to New Zealand in February of 2023. According to PERILS, the final insurance loss estimate is NZ $2.174 billion. The cyclone, combined with the North Island Floods of 2023 that occurred just before, marks the largest weather related insurance loss in New Zealand’s history (NZ $4.404 Billion).
