Maptycs Tracking Multiple Storms at Once

It was a busy Sunday in Maptycs with three active tropical storms.

🌀 Tropical Storm Milton is expected to become a major hurricane by midweek, according to the National Hurricane Center. Milton is forecasted to reach Category 3 major hurricane strength with 115 mph winds as it heads toward Florida’s Gulf Coast. The storm is expected to weaken to a Category 2 before it makes landfall.

🌀 Hurricane Kirk, the 11th named storm of the 2024 hurricane season, reached Category 4 storm status on Thursday and is preparing to hit Europe in the form of a post-tropical cyclone. According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Kirk reached Category 4 storm status on Thursday and will eventually target locations such as the United Kingdom and France with heavy rainfall, rough seas and damaging wind gusts.

🌀 Hurricane Leslie is making its way across the Atlantic and causing storm swells which are affecting the Leeward Islands, Bermuda, and the Greater Antilles. According to the National Hurricane Center, “these swells are expected to spread westward to the east coast of the United States, Atlantic Canada, and the Bahamas Sunday, and to the Azores on Monday.”
